Technology on Campus

Nanook Technology Services is located in the Bunnell Building on the Troth Yeddha' Campus. Students can get free help with their laptops and other devices at the walk-up service desk in the Nook, located in Room 319. In addition to walk-ups, the NTS Service Desk can be contacted by chat, emailing helpdesk@alaska.edu, visiting NTS online, or calling 907-450-8300 or 800-478-8226.

Internet Access, Computing Labs and Smart Classrooms

Wireless internet coverage extends across all Troth Yeddha' Campus buildings, including residence halls. Walk-up computers are accessible at the Rasmuson Library and the Moore-Bartlett-Skarland residence complex. For collaborative work, students can utilize The Nook, located in 319 Bunnell Building. The space offers virtual computer stations and ample collaborative seating. It also provides convenient access to power outlets, wired and wireless network connectivity, mobile printing and collaboration stations equipped for sharing content on large screens.

Additionally, collaborative commons are available on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Usibelli Building and the 3rd floor of the Gruening Building. The 6th floor of the Rasmuson Library houses the Student Success Center, which features two smart classrooms, three collaboration spaces and a one-button recording studio. The Student Success Center also includes the writing lab, math lab and speaking center.

Across the Troth Yeddha' Campus, more than 200 smart learning spaces are equipped with various instructional technologies, including web conferencing, computers, digital projectors, document cameras, digital monitors and lecture capture capabilities. These classrooms support a modern, adaptable learning environment accommodating various teaching methods, from traditional face-to-face instruction to online and hybrid formats. Similarly, rural campuses like Chukchi, Northwest, Kuskokwim, and Bristol Bay have smart classrooms offering identical functionality tailored for distance learning.
