The oral comprehensive exam may be an oral defense of the written research proposal.

Admission Requirements
Complete the following general university admission requirements for graduate programs.
- Submit an application for admission
- Submit official transcripts
- Official test results: GRE scores are not accepted nor considered for this program
- Submit resume/curriculum vitae
- Submit statement of academic goals
- Submit 2 letters of recommendation

Additional program admission requirements and information:
- Letters of recommendation should be from people who can address your ability to succeed in graduate school
- Have completed a master's degree
- In consultation with a UAF faculty member, prepare and submit:
- Research prospectus
- Proposed graduate study plan
- Two letters of endorsement from two proposed Ph.D. advisory committee members (one letter of endorsement from the proposed UAF committee chair, one letter of endorsement from a proposed committee member in a different discipline)
