Research Institutes, Centers and Consortia
UAF research is focused within several high-profile research institutes, which collectively brought over $220M in research funding to Alaska in 2024. Some institutes are embedded within UAF colleges, but all collaborate across the UAF college network.
Assistantships are available for graduate students working on research with faculty in many research institutes and centers. Many faculty researchers have joint appointments with an academic department. Any student interested in research projects with specific faculty or the availability of assistantships should contact the appropriate academic department.
