Program Learning Outcomes
Program Learning Outcomes are specific, measurable statements that define the knowledge and skills students will gain by the end of the program.
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Demonstrate intermediate ASL communication skills required to communicate one-on-one with members of the American Deaf community.
- Demonstrate appropriate cultural norms that are practiced in Deaf culture. (Express empathy for the challenges experienced by the deaf and hard of hearing community)
- Demonstrate an understanding of the research in the linguistic structures of ASL and relate general linguistic concepts to American Sign Language
- Demonstrate the communication, computation and human relations skills required for one-on-one communication in ASL
- Demonstrate ASL fluency at an intermediate level
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the RID CPC
