Equity and Compliance
Staff in the Department of Equity and Compliance lead a focused effort to build inclusive systems and a welcoming environment at UAF. Staff ensure equality of employment and educational opportunities, and work to eradicate discriminatory practices.
DEC staff investigate complaints of discrimination and sexual harassment and work with parties to find resolution. If students or employees believe they are being treated differently because of their race, religion, color, national origin, citizenship, age, sex, physical or mental disability, status as a protected veteran, marital status, changes in marital status, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, parenthood, sexual orientation, gender identity, political affiliation or belief, genetic information, or other legally protected status, they can lodge a complaint with DEC. Complaints can be filed online or by visiting the office.
